How long have you been in business?
I opened in July of 2008.
What is your primary product or service?
PLUS is Pittsburgh's FIRST and ONLY consignment store exclusively dedicated to women sizes 14 and up. We carry NEW and GENTLY LOVED casual to formal wear, footwear, jewelry, handbags and other accessories.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
I saw that Pittsburgh lacked this type of consignment store dedicated to the plus size women. My background is in speech therapy and I recently earned my Masters in elementary education. I researched the consignment industry and joined the National Association of Resale and Thrift Shops (NARTS). NARTS is the leading organization in the industry. I attended the NARTS National Convention this past summer and was mentored by the best!
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
I am the only Plus Size consignment store in Pittsburgh. I am a plus size woman myself and know first hand how hard and expensive it can be to find good quality clothing. Department stores and shopping malls carry little to no plus size items. Our mission is to offer plus size women a selection of quality merchandise at reasonable prices, and to provide a pleasant shopping experience in a safe and ambient atmosphere, with personal customer service that exceeds expectations. We believe in recycling. We save the planet one outfit at a time! We also believe that large women have been neglected and dismissed by the fashion industry. Large women should be proud of their curves and be able to find affordable fashions. They should be treated with courtesy and respect regardless of their size, and their shopping experiences should be pleasurable instead of frustrating and embarrassing.

I currently have one location.

Which areas do you service?
Customers come as far away as West Virgina, Ohio, Erie and Greensburg. We receive many ladies from the North Hills (Mars, Cranberry, Wexford, Ross), East (Monroeville, Church Hill, etc) and from Robinson and Washington. Of course we have ladies from the immediate surrounding areas such as Mt. Lebanon, Upper St. Clair, Bethel Park and Castle Shannon.
Who owns your company or runs daily operations?
I own the company and I am at the store during all business hours.

Tuesday/Thursday/Friday 10am-5pm
Wednesday 12pm-7pm
Saturday 10am-4pm
Closed Sundays and Mondays
